This and the first two General 2 Galleries are from Marshall Shaw's Collection.
The first 5 photos are of long established firm Braddocks Motor Engineers. This is their original premises on Stockport Road. Having moved to Oldknow Road a new garage was built. Later this was upgraded to brick.
A proud workforce. In 2004 the site was sold and houses built on the spot. Peeres Cottage at Strines. One of Marple's older buildings.
Looking towards Dan Bank. The 17th C. fence posts still exist A great picture of the old Georgian Church. Strines Printworks FC 1905/6
Lovely picture of a day at Roman Lakes. Roman Bridge, note the derelict condition of the rails. The good old Jolly Sailor pub.
